CHEERLEADING
Cheerleading has been far more than a sport to me—it’s been a life-shaping experience. While some may question its place among traditional sports, my years as a cheerleader have taught me the true meaning of leadership, commitment, and hard work. From intense practices to competing nationally, I’ve learned how to push through challenges, support my teammates, and lead with confidence and purpose. The sport has instilled in me a strong sense of discipline, time management, and perseverance—skills that extend well beyond the mat. Cheerleading has taught me how to thrive under pressure, communicate effectively in a team, and stay dedicated to a shared goal. It's not just something I participated in—it's a part of who I am. The lessons I’ve learned will continue to guide me in every future endeavor, both personally and professionally.

Mens March Madness 2024
In 2024, the men’s basketball team punched their ticket to March Madness for the first time in 11 years. As a 12-seed, they were sent to Brooklyn, New York, where they made a great run to the second round before falling to Duke. Being part of that experience was incredible—not just witnessing the excitement of the tournament but also getting a behind-the-scenes look at how a major event like March Madness is run.
UCA Nationals - 4th place
Every January, UCA College Nationals brings together college cheer teams from across the country to compete at the highest level. In 2024, we placed 4th in the nation in Small Division 1A Game Day, a huge accomplishment for our program in an incredibly competitive division. This achievement was a testament to our team’s hard work, dedication, and passion for representing JMU on a national stage.
